Strategies to Address Cyberbullying Webinar

Almost 80% of teens regularly use a cell phone. In fact, it’s rare to see a teen that is not attached to one! With access to cell phones and thus to web-based social media, cyberbullying has become of increased concern to schools and parents. Cyberbullying, just like all bullying, involves posting or texting mean or hurtful words to another, spreading lies or rumors and sharing pictures to harm or embarrass. The comparison with other forms of bullying ends there. Cyberbullying has the potential to be much more painful as the posts and texts can be made anonymously and shared limitlessly.  The Shred Hate Cyberbullying Webinar, hosted on 11/1/18, had an overarching goal of providing educators with strategies to prevent and address this harmful menace.
